Amazon Music Arrives on Select Onkyo Components, Bringing a World of Music, Playlists, Radio, and More to Your Living Space

Press Release dated: 11 Oct 2018

Onkyo, the world leader in home entertainment innovation, announces a firmware update available for download today (October 11) which activates Amazon Music on select stereo receivers, network audio players, mini-system receivers, soundbars, and lifestyle audio products.

Onkyo customers can now enjoy native support for Amazon Music with a Prime Music or Amazon Music Unlimited account. Prime Music is an on-demand music streaming service available free of charge for Amazon Prime subscribers and features a library of about two million tracks. Amazon Music Unlimited, meanwhile, offers a discounted monthly subscription to Amazon Prime members and boasts tens of millions of songs.

Prime Music and Amazon Music Unlimited also feature thousands of professionally curated playlists and personalized music stations. Content from both services is served ad-free with unlimited plays, and new albums are typically added to the Amazon Music Unlimited catalog on the day they’re released in the Digital Music Store. Enthusiasts can now enjoy a wealth of content through their Onkyo component with richly immersive sound quality.

Amazon Music is accessed, and playback managed, via the free Onkyo Controller app for iPhone, iPad, and Android™ devices, or via remote controller and front-panel display on selected products.

Music streaming to the Onkyo component can also be wirelessly shared between components around the home via multi-room network technologies (where available), including Onkyo’s proprietary FlareConnect™ multi-room platform, at the same time.

The firmware rollout will enable Amazon Music on the following Onkyo products:

- TX-8270, TX-8250, and TX-L20D Network Stereo Receivers
(update of TX-L20D will follow)

- NS-6170 and NS-6130 Network Audio Players

- LS7200 3D Soundbar Systems

- CR-N775, CS-N575, and CS-N575D Network CD Receivers

- R-N855 Network Stereo Receiver

- NCP-302 Wireless Audio System
